Qigong  for mood regulation

Regulating your mood through qigong is very important in this quick and is constantly changing world. During these times, it is easy to have slip ups. We should not worry because, that is fine and normal and it is a human thing to happen. That is why it is very important to have your own practice like qigong. Practices like qigong help us in order to connect within our self and have inner peace.

Qigong is a very powerful and efficient way to help us balance our inner and outer world. Qigong help us become balanced, as a result, it makes it easier for us to maneuver over our day. Through qigong whenever anything happens that is beyond our control, we can always find that balance in our being. With our practice, we can easily find harmony with what is outside of us, within us.

In this fast and changing world, we are always in the fight or flight mode. Our sympathetic nervous system are always active. Because of this, we forget how important it is to rest and pause.

Autonomic Nervous System

The Autonomic Nervous System controls internal physiological processes that we are not aware of. These are process like respiration, cardiac regulation, reflexes, etc. It consist of the Sympathetic nervous system and the Parasympathetic nervous system. These two systems keep the body in a state of equilibrium and keeps us alive and functioning.

Sympathetic Nervous System

The Sympathetic Nervous System is also known as Fight-or-Flight response. The sympathetic nervous system is activating when we need to response to stress. Often times in our very “yang” lifestyles we are constantly responding to stress. Chronic stress can result to long-term stimulation of the fight-or-flight response. This results to constant production of hormones such as cortisol and other substances. When we secrete too much of these hormones and substances in the body, it may result to various physiological problems such as diabetes, hypertension. This may lead to cardiovascular diseases. To balance the Sympathetic Nervous System we need to activate the Parasympathetic Nervous System of Rest-and-digest response.

Parasympathetic Nervous System

The Parasympathetic nervous system of the Rest-and-digest response is responsible for maintenance of life. It is activating when we rest, when we eat or do anything that allows our body to regulate, nurture, maintain life, and stop responding to our daily stresses.

We can help activate the Parasympathetic Nervous System through qigong practice. Through qigong practice, we activate the Parasympathetic Nervous system by tuning in within through mindful movement, and meditation. With our practice, we learn to relax and breathe through the movement. This allows us to balance our nervous system as we face our active, fast and changing lifestyles every day.

Mastering the Autonomic Nervous System through Qigong

We can use qigong as a biohacking tool to help us learn to master out Autonomic Nervous System. Through qigong, we can reach flow states. With flow states, we can regulate our Autonomic Nervous System. Through regulating our Autonomic Nervous System, qigong can help lift our mood. If we do this, it can help us regulate our health and over-all well-being. We can do this rather than relying on drugs or other sources.

Lift your mood with Crane Qigong

Qigong practices like the Crane Qigong from the 5 Element Qigong is very efficient in regulating our mood. The crane qigong has expanding and rising movement that allows our energy to expand and rise as well. This qigong connects to the Fire Element and the fire element connects to the heart. By regulating the heart, we regulate blood flow and we release any tension in our heart. This allows the blood and qi to flow more freely in that area and to our body. Releasing any tension in the heart also help regulate a normal heart rate. This reduce risks of hypertension, or any heart disease that may have been caused by chronic stress.

Our body is intrinsically connected to the spirit

Crane Qigong also helps improve our focus and help us enhance our balance. In the Daoist perspective, our body is intrinsically connected to the spirit. The state of our body is connected to the state of our spirit and vice versa, the state of our spirit is connected to our body. By improving our focus by looking at one point during the crane qigong, it helps us turn off our senses to other distractions. When we keep doing this in our practice, we start incorporating it in our spirit and start to apply it in our daily lives. We also keep our balance through the crane qigong. This is by balancing in one leg as we move the other leg around. When we reach the peak position, we hold that position and balance there.

Through this, we not only practice and learn balance in our body but also we become aware of our bodily mechanics. This allows us to balance through the shifting of weights and movement in the crane qigong. When apply this in our lives, maintaining balance throughout our fast and changing daily lives is a very important to keep our mind, body and spirit healthy. If we are balanced, we can easily regulate our mood, do our task easily, we can manage stress better, and we can have clearer decision-making.
