1. Neck Rolls

Sit up tall in your chair or stand on the floor with your feet flat on the ground and your arms relaxed at your sides. Slowly tilt your head to the right, bringing your head towards your shoulder. Slowly roll your head forward, bringing your chin to your chest, then roll your head to the left, stretching your neck. Roll your head backwards, allowing your face to look up to the ceiling. Allow your head to feel heavy, letting go of any unnecessary tension. Repeat this sequence for 5-10 repetitions, then reverse the direction and repeat.

2.  8 Confluent Points / Wrist and Ankle Flossing

Wrist and Ankle Flossing is another simple but highly effective exercise that can benefit desk jockeys who spend long hours typing and using a computer mouse. This exercise can be done for both the wrist and ankles. You can do this by standing on the floor or sitting on your chair. By moving your wrists in circles, this alleviates stiffness and improves blood flow to the area.

To perform Wrist and Ankle flossing, start by clasping your fingers together, right in front of the heart area. Then, slowly rotate your wrist clockwise for several repetitions and the counterclockwise for several repetitions. And then, switch the way your fingers are clasp together and then do the same circle motions in both directions. Do this as you rotate your ankles as you pin your toes to the ground or floor. With consistently doing Wrist and Ankle flossing exercise, you can release tension in the wrists and ankles, improve flexibility, and reduce the risk of injuries.

3. Tiger Qigong

One of the many types of Qigong is the Tiger Qigong of White Tiger Qigong, which is particularly beneficial for desk jockeys. This routine focuses on specific movements that help release tension in the wrist and improve posture. The wrist can become strained from extended use of the keyboard and mouse. Tiger Qigong helps combat this by incorporating wrist circles and stretches. These movements increase blood flow to the area, improving flexibility and reducing stiffness. Moreover, Tiger Qigong focuses on opening the chest and improving posture. This is essential for desk jockeys who tend to slump forward, putting strain on the back and neck. The routine includes exercises like rolling the wrist, opening the chest, and gentle spinal movements, which help align the spine and strengthen the back muscles.
