Qigong is a system of knowledge that comprises at least 5,000 years of human evolution and covers all the fields of human interest. As for the definition, it is officially known in China as the science of human potential and development. There are many styles of Qigong available so it is important to understand what makes our style unique. White Tiger Qigong are Taoist Qigong exercises that harmonize the body, breath and mind. White Tiger specializes in extremely dynamic Qigong exercises known well in Wuyi Mountain and Wudang Mountain but has very little exposure in the West. Specialties include longevity & medical Qigong, breathing techniques, meditation, and Qigong based martial arts.
We have a total of three Qigong systems that serve as the foundation of the White Tiger Qigong system.
In every type of Qigong the body, spirit, mind, and breath are synchronized to become one. Whether moving, standing or sitting, every exercise requires these 3 harmonies. When the body, spirit and breath become a unified one.
A signature feature of this Qigong is that it trains the practitioner to become flexible, yet strong and fluid all at the same time. This is practiced in our Dynamic Qigong forms. Dynamic forms range from balancing, deep stretching in low stances, to spinal twists that are most often derived from animal forms and dragon movements.
This is one of the most complete and comprehensive Qigong training programs taught anywhere in the west. Even if your goal is to simply get fit, this training program will do it for you. With this training you will be able to take your body to new heights and gain the following benefits:
Many beginners are learning very advanced techniques of Qigong from books and videos that are known to be dangerous if not practiced correctly such as Micro-cosmic orbit and others. You need a teacher who can answer your questions as you move along. What if you have some unusual Qi feelings and you need to discuss with a master what it means?
One time when I began learning a special form of lung Qigong I felt what I thought was incredibly strong Qi sensations. After I told my master he told me I was not ready at that time for that Qigong because the Qi feelings I was having were not good. I would have never known that if he wasn’t there to guide me. Only once you have deep experience with a variety of forms could you possibly understand how to study many forms from a video.
It takes time and guidance to understand both the energetic and physical properties of Qigong. I suggest people use the videos as a study guide to what they have learned in person and not learn new forms from a video. Also, some people posting videos on Youtube have very little experience or are not qualified to even be teachers.
